Thanks, guys, for the detailed information you provide. I have found it very helpful. I still have one question, though. If you were to buy just one lens, which one would it be? I'm thinking either the Prizm Rose or the Saphire Iridium. Is that right? And if so, which one???
Hey Maja, Thanks for reaching out! The PRIZM Sapphire fairs pretty well in all conditions. PRIZM Rose will do better in white out conditions, but if you were to only get one...PRIZM Sapphire would be your best bet! Let us know if you have any other questions (: (858) 571-0240
Great find! Love that you all show the differences in each lens, going beyond the rest and that's why I love Sportrx so much! Question, I already have the Flight Deck xm in torch, but it's overcast here in Michigan most of the winter with sticky lake effect snow and I'll need the Prizm Hi Pink, do you sell the individual lenses? If you do, I can't find the link.
Hi there! Thanks for the love! We do not carry replacement lenses for snow goggles but if you contact one of our opticians they may be able to create a special order for you. However, your best bet may be to order it directly from Oakley here: https://www.oakley.com/en-us/product/WGOO7064R?variant=888392180742 Thanks for reaching out!
Hi, I am trying to choose between prizm sapphire and torch lences, and I was also watching your videos where you say the torch looks bit darker then the sapphire, however on the comparison table the VTL numbers showing the opposite . 13 Vs 19 Can u please help me which is darker , and which would fit to all conditions better, but more for cloudy and bad weather. Many thanks
PRIZM Sapphire is a bit darker than Torch. but only by a little bit. We recommend looking at the VLT chart on the blog for the most up-to-date information.
Hello, great comparison,, but in 2 of your video it is told, the troch is darker however in the Tabelle IT should be more hell then the Sapphire. Which shall I believe? I am looking for a prizm covering most of the weather conditions Thanks
Hi! I want to thank you for this information, just superb for helping me decide which lenses for my jawbreakers. They came with the black prizm lenses and the sapphire blue tint will be my primary all around lens, mainly for cycling. Your videos are also very helpful, continue doing what your doing and innovative. Stay well, stay safe, ride on!,
I was looking at the Prizm snow black to use for running in the ev path. I wanted as dark a lens as possible. Is this darker than my old black polarized (I think they are 9%)
Thanks for the very helpful review! I've been thinking about buying the clear prizm lens to use in indoor slopes or outdoor at night. What do you think ? Do you recommend this lens?
Hey Stephan. You’re welcome! If we’re talking about snowboarding then a Prizm clear lens would be suitable for indoor and nighttime conditions, but I’d also recommend the Prizm Hi Pink lens.
Hey Alex! Oakley makes some fantastic Prizm lenses for their line of goggles specifically for use in snow. Some have a very low VLT (Visible Light Transparency) percentage and are good for bright bluebird days compared to high VLT lenses to be used in overcast conditions or night riding. However, none of the snow-specific Prizm lenses are polarized as this can sometimes negatively effect one's depth perception and is generally not recommended.
A lot of people on older posts on Reddit and elsewhere (there aren't too many new posts) seem to think Hi Pink is the gold standard for overcast flat light days, Since the Prizm Clear came out, I haven't seen many posts comparing the Hi Pink to the Clear in very flat light conditions. Is the Hi Pink still the superior go-to lens for flat light, or will the Prizm Clear do just as well or maybe even better due to the higher VLT?
I would love to do a comparison between Prizm Hi Pink and Prizm Clear! Prizm clear lets in noticeably more light. Ultimately, like most things - it depends on your preference. What you gain in more light to your eyes, you end up losing in bold color and contrast enhancement. The lighter the lens, the less the light can be manipulated. In whiteout conditions, I would go for the Prizm Clear. In cloudy, overcast conditions, I would go for the Prizm Hi Pink. I tend to err on the side of more light to my eyes because you can always squint to minimize light to your eyes. There is no opposite of squinting, so I'd rather more light than less. I hope that helps! We'll hopefully get a chance next season to get out there and do a practical comparison!
Hi Kat! You'll definitely get more color enhancement with the Hi Pink in low-light conditions with some cloud cover, though this lens is not recommended for skiing/snowboarding at night. The Prizm clear, however, is definitely the way to go for any conditions where light exposure is minimal or at night when riding under flourescent lighting.
Hi, I want to get a Sapphire Iridium lens for my goggles based on your review here. I now have a Rose lens. Does the Sapphire cover all the conditions Rose is good in, making the Rose one redundany? Should I get a brighter one (Persimon or Clear) for Grey/dark conditions? Kind regards, Runar.
Hey Runar! The Prizm Rose has a VLT of 26% vs 13% with the Prizm Sapphire. The lower the vlt, the more suited that lens is for bright sunny conditions. The Rose is great for a wide variety of lighting, but if you want something for dusk/low light scenarios, or even at night, then you may want to check out the Prizm Hi Pink or clear options too.
Thank you very much for your reply! I find it hard to choose – I haven’t skied for years and years but got my skis out now to go down the slopes with my daughter, turns out that she loved it, so I got myself a Flight Deck with Rose lenses at a good price I haven’t tried the other lenses though, so it’s kind of hard to know what to expect, and I’m not looking at ending up with 3-4 different lenses for different conditions
Very cool! You couldn't do much better than the Rose if you were looking for one lens to cover the broadest range of lighting conditions. Add a low-vlt lens, like the sapphire, to the collection and you should be good! However, if you plan to ride at night or in very low-lit environments, then you might want to consider the Prizm Hi-Pink or Prizm Clear lenses as well.
Thanks again for your reply One more (stupid?) question: I may be able to get hold of a Sage Gold Iridium lens at a better price than Sapphire Iridium. I can see that they have the same base color (Garnet) and the same VLT (13%) – is the difference pure aesthetic or are there differences in performance under different light conditions? Thanks again, –Runar.
Update: So, I ended up with the Prizm Sage Gold Iridium lens (paid around $70 brand new which is almost 50% off retail price here in Norway) – super happy with it so far for daylight skiing in varying conditions. I still need a lens for evenings under fluorescent lights though. Is the Hi Pink a no go? I understand that it is a really good lens for low light and whiteout, but does it cut the mustard at night with no natural light as well? Or should I get the Prizm Clear instead? Cheers, Runar.
Hello! Great question. For overcast days, a rose or bronze non-polarized base tint is the way to go. The VLT is usually a bit higher, meaning it lets more light pass through the lens, while providing much needed contrast at the same time. The non-polar helps in these conditions by letting you spot hazards in the road like oil, water, or ice slicks. However, on a bright sunny day, a polarized lens will help combat glare and eyestrain. I'd say you're on the right track with the Prizm Road. Hope this helps!
Hi, it’s me again. So, I have the Sage Gold lens for sun/clouds and the Clear (bubblegum) for low light/night skiing. Curious about the new Iced lens though – guess the two lenses I have cover most conditions, but is the Clear one good enough in foggy or snowy weather? Or should I get the Iced one for that? Cheers, Runar.
Thanks a bunch!

¿Hi pink or the new Iced for low light?
Thanks!
I don't know if I've explained myself well...
Iced or Hi Pink for very cloudy days, fog and snow?
Thank you very much.
